02' S'man 700 - no fire

I have a 2002 Sportsman 700 that has no fire. You can crank on it 30 times & maybe get 1 spark.

Assuming it is the stator - but hate to spend almost $500 for Polaris' stator & this not be the porblem....

Anyone else have this poblem - or have any suggestions.... besides blowing it up

Remove the four bolts holding on the handlebars. Lift up handlebars, roll Popo out and roll new Rincon underneath, lower handlebars and tighten the four screws.

Sorry other than that I've got nothing to help you out.

Check the ac/dc rectifier.I know a few people have had problems with them in the past.If the coil and wires check good then its more than likely your stator.

This has been the BEST suggestion I have heard... I highly agree... It is not my Polaris - posting this for one of my "part time" mechanics that hates Polaris' also - he is working on this quad for a friend at home on his own time.... He called the local Polaris shop & they right off wanted to sell him a $485.00 stator....

I owned a Polaris, ONCE, and only owned it for about a month...lol

i think there are several things it could be but start with the battery does it turn over with the start button or are you pulling it? you said 30 times that makes me thing you are pulling. the coil has to have some voltage to amplify. then check the plug or plug wire start at the cheapest. just dawned on me .... better check the old run/ off switch. even if it is set to run it could be grounding out. good luck

We have checked EVERYTHING on the POS - we are down to the stator... just didn't really want to spend $480 bucks......
