polaris 800 sportsman inner cv problem

when i turn to the left going slow there is a knocking sound. the inner boot was damaged and dirt got in the cv
i cleaned it out but the knocking is still there. would it be ok to just replace the inner cv cage

There may be burr on one of the componants. Give it some time it may work its way back to smooth.

I would like to chime in on this one.First off you can clean the outer portion of the joint all you want. The damage is now on the inside and will eventually get worse. Especially if you put a load on it. I would change out the whole u-Joint and get replacements that have grease fittings built in.If allowed to continue, this could damage the spline of even the yoke.
