I would not really worry about it. Just call the dealer and make a note of the time and date. It most likely is nothing more than your exhaust system getting settled in.(burning paint) Are you riding the brake?Another possibility is some mud may have found it's way near the cylinder.Check your coolant level just to be sure, Ken
i thought it might be just the new parts getting heat. no mud yet...waiting till i get back to louisiana for that. i've been looking at some mud lites. are those good tires?
The burning smell is what all new bikes do. It should quit after about 5 hours on the bike. If it continues longer than that I would take it back to the dealer.
I like the mud lites. I have those on my wife's bike. They are great for all around riding. I have outlaws on mine and I like them better for my type of ridding.

They seem to be a pretty good all around tire, I have the mudlite AT's (lug is to dang small). The biggest problem is they are a soft compound and REALLY wear fast. I'm wanting a set of mudbugs, they seem like a good all around tire and work great in the mud.
well i would like to get another set of rims and keep my stockers. i believe i read that the hubs on the new brutes are to large in diameter for all the aftermarket rims available right now. is this true?
