| Under Water Hello -
My friend was borrowing my Honda Foreman and was told a creek was a foot deep. Well it was over 5 feet deep, and my machine went under and flipped, and floated down the creek a little. Nice right? Does anyone know what I should change, look for/expect?
Thanks!!

| If machine was just idleing when it went under, it should be OK. If it was under load, you may have a junk motor. Pull out spark plug and crank it over to pump water out of piston. Stand it up on it's rear end to drain any water that may be in exhaust system. Open air box and change filter and dry airbox. Drain carburator bowl and gas tank. refill with fresh gas. Change oil and filter. Try to start it. If you get it started, run it a couple miles and change oil and filter again. Then run it about 5 miles and change oil and filter again. After that I would change oil and filter again after about 100 miles. If it is runnin then, should be OK. | | | | Mar 27th, 08, 03:17 PM | | Super Moderator STAFF Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: moulton, alabama

| Get a depth finder. lol I laugh because I did soemthing very simalar, but I turned the key off and bailed only to stand up in chest deep water as the 4 wheeler went by. lol Lucky my friend was there to winch it out. Saved my bacon by turning key off. I just had a little water in the airbox that was it. Dried off the plug and away I went. A bit cold and wet but it weas the end of the day.. <BFG> | | | | Mar 30th, 08, 02:05 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Springfield, GA

| dude if one of my friends did that. i would simply demand him to pay for every bit of repair down to the last drop of oil. and if he refused simply slash his tires and put dirt in his truck's oil and transmission. see how he feels about it. a little rash but if someone did that to my quad i would simply be unreasonable. mayb thats why i don't really let ppl ride mine. it may be stingy but hell i didn't pay $6,000 plus for some one else to destroy it | | | | Mar 30th, 08, 06:53 PM | | alwaysdrunk Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: southeast nebraska

| that's why i don't like to loan out anything i paid a large amount for even if it is a responsable person, cause "$hite happens, mostly to me though". if something happens on my watch i have noone to blame but myself. | | | | Apr 2nd, 08, 03:20 PM | | Connoisseur Join Date: May 2007 Location: Upstate NY

| 10 years ago one of my instructors at MMI told me theres three things you never let someone borrow ...your tools your ride or your ol lady cause theyll all come back f@$%ed. LOL Everyone is right though you should beat up your friend and burn his house down, and have your way with his mom, sister, dog maybe all three.Seriously he should help with any costs to fix your machine its just the principle if you mess up someones stuff make it right. | | | | Apr 2nd, 08, 11:27 PM | | Beer Wagon Driver STAFF Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: DFW, Tx.

| Words of wisdom from oldatvr: You never loan out your chain saw, your ATV or your old lady-because they always come back screwed up... | | | | |
