yfz 450 and a yfm 350 swapable ?

Does anyone know if the yamaha yfz 450 and the yfm 350 are interchangeable basically can I take out the 350 out of my warrior and replace it with a 450 ?

sure it's possible, you need to measure the engine and make sure it will fit in the frame, then measure the motor mounts and look to see if all of them are the same size and location. you'll more than likely need the 450 wireing harness and cdi. after all of this you could buy a yfz 450 used. IMO

you could get a 435/466 big bore stroker kit for the yfm 350.

Isnt the 450 liquid cooled too so it would have more stuff radiator,coolant tank etc to try to stuff in the warrior chassis which could be done, but personally I dont think its worth the money or time to put an engine like the 450 into a good but not great handling chassis of the warrior.Please dont think Im knocking the warrior I have a 99 and love it ,but for cost efficiencywise youre better off boring and strokin it for more cc like Bamma said.

yeah ken i didn't even think about the rad. and coolant bottle. not worth it IMO, when the stroker i bet would be as fast er faster than the 450.

Mickey Dunlap Fourstroke Tech. or maybe Curtis Sparks they both are very reputable engine builders.I know they sell kits but youll still need some machining done.Id like to do the same with my Warrior when its ready for a rebuild, but I dont know when thatll be.I saved the poor thing from the kid I got it from it was trashed. It needed a ton of work when I got it except for the engine.I heard some horror stories from numerous people about what it had been through before I got it, and Im suprised as hell the engine runs so strong still,cause Ive hammered on it pretty good in the past 5 years Ive had it.I'll get some pics of the old girl posted sometime.

yeah I looked into it, sparks doesn't do anything for the warrior. Four stroke tech does they make 435/ 448 kits for it for about $650 .

THhy won't match up.

Dennis kirk also has +7mm stroker cranks for $369 and a special piston so you dont need as much machining for $243 but I think youre better off going with Fourstroke tech.Plus the Dennis kirk stuff will only bring you to 396 cc. No replacement for discplacement.

X2 find a good shop to do the work or call four stroke tech and see what they can do or who they prefer/suggest. their kits are awesome, mine has tons more power/torque over stock atv i've rode.
