08 BF BOGGIN DOWN

I took my 750 BF out saturday and rode with some friends, we were playing in some mud puddles nothin deep just enough to hit them fast and splash. Now i did go out in a big mud hole to see how deep it was but i didnt get out in it to hurt anything, we rode on around the road and was playin in another mud puddle. Again not that deep and then it just started acting up like it wasnt getting any gas i would kick it down and it was like i was in low gear, after a while though it straightened up and didnt do it anymore. Anyone know what could have caused this?

Steam got sucked in your airbox and caused it.Very common on bikes

I took the top off my air filter and it still done this for a couple minutes, would that still be what happened. I dont know anything about them a friend said my belt might be slipping, But their was a lot of steam coming from it. If this happens what can i do to make it run right again or do i just have to wait it out, it really didnt take it that long to run right again.
