1990 yamaha blaster questions

I just bought a 1990 yamaha blaster for 200 bucks today that was in reall good shape.Only prob is that the dude rebuilt the motor and it still has no compression. But i am pretty sure i know why.He has standerd bore piston and rings.Standard bore is 66mm and i measured the inside of cylinder and it reads 67mm so i am gunna buy a 67 mm piston and rings witch is 40 thousands over bore.I got 1 question though. How much oil am i suppose to put in the block and what kinda of oil?And oh i pull the cluctch and push the machine and the motor still turns over.I adjusted the cable all the way and it still does this whats up with that? thanks for any help.

a blaster is two stroke, therefore has no crankcase oil. it has gear oil in the trans case, is this what you mean? go to a yamaha shop they can point you in the right direction.

not familiar with the blaster but this is what i know. most of them have a bolt/screw about 1/3 -1/2 way up on the right side cover that is the full mark and use 10w 40 motor oil. as far as the clutch issue don't worry about it until you get it running. the clutch disk like to stick to the plates and will break loose with the motor running.

by a shop manual for it if you plan on keeping it so you can get the proper torques and specs.

And i also here these have weak trannys...is this true? and i am also told after taking off i dont need to use the clutch to shift...i am told all i gotta do is let go of the gas and shift like u would do on a auto clutch machine. Is this true? thanks for the replys

the clutch sticking aint a problem, crank it up in neutral and shift into first and it should break loose.

and ive heard about not needing to use the clutch to shift gears, i dont know if its true, but i always use the clutch.
