My son just started Mud racing. He races in Mud drag races that are 125 feet long, with the mud about 2 foot deep.
He is racing a Kawasaki Prairie 650 4x4. We just put a set of Mud Bug tires on it.
What else can we do to the 650 Kawasaki to get the edge on his competition?
Thanks,
Here is a list!
A HUGE difference on Kawies is the Dyantek CDI Box...GET ONE!
Snorkels
2 inch lift
Clutch kit
Uni Filter
Highlifter Penlock to hold the Diff lever in.
HMF Exhaust & Jet Kit
IF you want to spend the money.... a Flints custom performance motor.
bootlegger,
Which clutch kit would you suggest?
We only Mud drag race. The mud is only about 2 foot deep, so I dont think he would need a snorkel. He bought a K&N filter for the Kaw the other day. Does the CDI box help much? I don't really want to put a after market muffler. Around where we live, if you put an after market muffler on your ATV the put you in the modified class. Anything else and you can stay in the stock class. Doesn't really make sense, but that's how it is.
He won 1st in his first mud drag at our local fair last week. He is all jacked up wanting to run in as many as he can. I am trying to find more mud drags in Ky. I can't seek to find many. I don't really know what you call the mud races where the mud is only 2 foot deep at the most. I wouldn't think it would really be called a mud bog? Most mud bogs I have seen on the net are really deep.....mud pits.
Thanks for all the help.

A Dyantek CDI helps the Kawies more than any other Brand. Get an EPI or Dalton Clutch Kit. If you go to KawieCentral.com they can tell you which one exactly to pu tin it for the Drags. A 2 inch lift will help it alot as well.
