| Does anyone have a remedy for the brake squeak on Polaris quads? I have heard many of these machines do it. My sportsman 500 does it at low speed. Just wondering if anyone else has had this as well. | | | | Aug 22nd, 06, 10:28 AM | | Ridin Dirty Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Earth

| Mine does this, its mostly mud in between the pads and rotor, the best thing I've found is to pop the caliper off and spray some brake cleaner in their, and let it sit for 5-10 min, but as soon as you hit mud, it might start again, pending, if the mud is still wet just find a water hole deep enough to hit your brakes, and it might stop... | | | | Aug 22nd, 06, 04:48 PM | | Beer Wagon Driver STAFF Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: DFW, Tx.

| The Rincon's do this as well... just about any machine with disc brakes will eventually.
As said before it's foreign matter caught up between the pads and rotors... and will accelerate wear as well as annoy the crap out of you.
Regular washing and thorough cleaning/flushing of the brakes will help remove some of it, but I don't know of a cure that doesn't cause damage to the brake components or increase the risk of injury to the rider.
Wish I could tell ya more.

| On the rhino I put EBC severe duty pads on it and it hasnt made any noise since.Factory brakes are made of a soft material that will hold dirt in them, causing them to squeal like crazy. One of the first things I do on a new machine is change the brake pads out. | | | | Aug 22nd, 06, 08:43 PM | | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Mobile, Al
